I am running for South Carolina Secretary of State because I believe deeply in the promise of South Carolina and the opportunities this country provides. As an immigrant, I came here believing in the ideals of fairness, hard work, and honest government. South Carolina welcomed me, and I want to give back by serving the people of this state. I am running to bring fresh energy, strengthen transparency, protect seniors and consumers from fraud, and ensure the Secretary of State’s office works for everyone who calls South Carolina home.
The Secretary of State can do more than push paper. Join me to make sure that the people of South Carolina are put first!

Transparency. Integrity. Accountability.

Before making South Carolina home, Edwina Winter built an impressively global career rooted in both technical expertise and leadership. Born in England and raised in part in Ethiopia, she developed an early global perspective that would later shape her professional path. After studying agriculture and earning top national honors, she transitioned into construction and infrastructure, eventually launching her own company which led infrastructure projects across the UK.
She went on to hold senior leadership roles in major engineering and energy efforts, including managing complex construction projects and helping lead the decommissioning of a nuclear power plant. Her work eventually took her onto the international stage as a senior executive, where she oversaw business operations across Asia-Pacific and contributed to critical infrastructure solutions, including emergency response systems following the Fukushima disaster. Throughout her career, she has combined sharp business acumen with the ability to lead large teams, navigate high-stakes projects, and engage across cultures and industries.
Edwina's global career ended when she was transferred to South Carolina and fell in love. She put down roots and focused on community, service, and local leadership. After stepping away from her international executive career, she became a real estate professional and began her own consulting firm. She also founded The Celtic Wisdom Center, a nonprofit that creates space for spiritual connection and community gathering both online and in person.
Her civic involvement is extensive and hands-on. She has served as President of the Rotary Club of Lake Murray–Irmo, worked as an election poll manager, and supports animal welfare as Secretary of Animal Rescue Carolina. Edwina is also deeply engaged in education and outreach, teaching through the Shepherd’s Center of St. Andrews, where she serves as Vice President of the board, and regularly contributing to local faith communities through preaching, music, and service. Across all of this, she brings a strong sense of community-minded leadership and a genuine commitment to making a difference locally.
